Zevenwacht Wine Estate, draws on the history and character of the surrounding Stellenbosch countryside and wine route– ushering through its doors elegant spaces and fine touches. With the direct translation ‘Seven Expectations’ the name Zevenwacht is a true epitome of the numerous offerings which await - including a private estate, restaurant, accommodation and wedding venue.

Beautiful grounds and idyllic settings envelop the two indoor wedding venues and outdoor ceremony area.
 

Garden Ceremony

When visiting the estate for the first time, I was shown around by the lovely, Anette who manages the weddings and functions at the venue. Walking down from the manor house and restaurant, I was led to the ceremony area. An expanse of well-manicured lawn enclosed by surrounding shrubbery, this area lends itself as an ideal garden ceremony setting.  With the views of the lake and surrounding estate, this is a definite favourite of mine. Should the weather be problematic, couples can opt for a marquee-tent or moving the ceremony to either of the two indoor reception venues.

The Alfresco

Being the larger of the two reception venues, The Alfresco can comfortably seat up to 220 people without a dance floor. The Alfresco lies on the edges of the manor house lake, between blue gum trees and gardens. The air-conditioned venue offers both exquisite views from the outside wooden deck and a welcome respite from the summer heat.  

 

The Lapa

The second venue is the Lapa which is set in a wooded glade above the lake. A more informal wedding venue, the Lapa with its roll-down blinds provides and outdoor-indoor space which can seat up to 70 guests.

Accommodation

Another selling point is that the venue offers on-site accommodation for you and your close family and friends. The Country Inn offers guests luxurious air-conditioned suites – each with its own private terrace and uninterrupted views. There is also a honeymoon suite available to couples for their special day. Apart from the Country Inn, the farm has additional accommodation in the form of a chalet, and seven beautiful cottages, each with three double rooms and en-suite bathrooms.
