Situated just 45 minutes from Cape Town, Vondeling Wines lies on the slopes of the unspoilt, protea-clad Paardeberg Mountain and is a classic example of a Cape winelands estate.

St Clement’s Chapel

One of the most romantic chapels I have seen; complete with a thatched roof, handmade stained glass windows, high steeple, and church bell, St Clement’s will make a wedding in the Cape Winelands unforgettable. Standing proud, the St Clement’s Chapel steeple rises high against the Paardeberg. The chapel is surrounded by rolling lawns, a charming garden, vineyards, and impressive views of the Paardeberg and surrounding countryside.

Pre-Reception

After the ceremony, guests can mingle on green lawns, taking in the spellbinding countryside. The transition from the ceremony to the pre-drinks and reception area is seamless, as the chapel is conveniently situated alongside the function venue: a short stroll for the guests and you don’t have to trade in the views either!

Venue

Wedding receptions can be held in the tasting room, which doubles up as a function venue accommodating up to 100 guests. Inside, high timber ceilings create an elegant space with influences of old Cape heritage.

With the venue set aglow by candlelight, firelight, and ambient lighting reflected in crystal glassware, your guests will be wrapped in romance and intimacy on those winter days and nights. In summer, receptions can be hosted on the shaded veranda, with guests dining under the stars.

Not only do its surroundings and location exude a tranquil, farmland atmosphere, but their friendly and cheerful staff stay discreetly in the background. You’ll feel that you have the entire place to yourself.

The Farm House

Across the road from Vondeling, The Farm House has seven en-suite bedrooms, which are luxuriously appointed and extremely comfortable (with Wi-Fi), offering bridal couples and guests a convenient place to stay. Other areas in the house include a fully equipped kitchen and a dining- and sitting-room with a cosy fireplace. The Farm House has two extremely efficient housekeepers and a wonderful chef who will do as much – or as little – as guests require. The wine fridge is regularly replenished with the best wines of the estate as well as other top South African estates.
