The absolutely breathtaking Hemel en Aarde Valley is one of the many hidden gems in the Western Cape. Directly translated, it is Heaven and Earth and as your drive along the winding roads of the valley, you begin to understand why.

There were four venues that truly took our breath away as nothing can match their beauty and views.

La Vierge

Meaning “The Virgin” in French, La Vierge takes it bright and unique inspiration from the surrounding Hemel en Aarde Valley. We loved that as you entered the venue you walked right into a working wine cellar. The outside deck would be where the ceremony takes place and afterwards it is transformed into a spectacular dance floor. With the quirky design of the restaurant and the magnificent views, La Vierge is a truly unique venue for your special day.

Bona Dea

This luxurious wedding venue is situated on the Babylon’s Tower mountain slopes nestled amongst pristine Cape Fynbos. The magnificent terraces were specifically designed for gazing at the beautifully manicured gardens and natural landscape beyond. Bona Dea has incorporated the original Cape style farmhouse. Enjoy light, airy indoor and outdoor spaces, thoughtfully created with everything you could wish for.

Nidderdale Farm

Entering Nidderdale Farm through an avenue of oak trees is truly something special, this working farm provides a private and tranquil setting for you and your guests. You are able to create your own bespoke wedding reception at Nidderdale Farm. You could either have long banquet tables on the expansive lawns or set up a beautiful outdoor marquee. There is something so beautifully unique about garden weddings, as you and your guests will be surrounded by the incomparable beauty of the outdoors.

The One Heaven and Earth

The impressive, minimalist, modern structure is situated at the highest point above sea level on Shaw’s Mountain Pass. You can either have your ceremony on the manicured green lawns overlooking the spectacular views of the Overberg or in the enchanted forest facing the Babylon’s Tower mountains. After the ceremony your guests make their way to the tastefully designed Glass House. This venue is so easily adaptable to any style.
