Top Wedding Venues in the Devon Valley | Stellenbosch
29 / 08 / 19Anyone who has driven along the meandering roads of the Devon Valley will tell you that it's the kind of place you fall in love with almost immediately.
Tucked away in a tranquil corner of the Winelands, amongst the Helderberg Mountains, Devon Valley is one of Stellenbosch's best kept secrets.
There were a few venues that truly stood out to us because of their uniqueness and sheer beauty.
Zarose
As you enter Zarose the first thing that catches your eye is the stunning country-style mansion that was built in the early 1960's and boasts the most magnificent views.
The crystal clear pool and welcoming braai area with a panoramic vista from the viewing deck lends itself to seeing Zebra, Springbok and Sable as they roam the farm.
The elegant stylish barn can accommodate up to 220 guests. With it's open spaces and neutral colour scheme, Zarose is able to adapt to any style.
Wedding ceremonies can take place on the marvelous wooden deck with the dam and mountains as your backdrop.
What we loved about Zarose was that they allow you to go into the Zebra enclosure to take the most memorable and unique photos for your special day.
Louisvale
A different approach was taken when designing Louisvale.
The first man made structures in the Western Cape area were created by the Nomadic Khoikhoi. Their domed, tortoise shell structure was the inspiration for the design of this beautifully unique venue.
The polished concrete floors are infused with Perlemoen shells to represent the Khoikhoi's main source of food in the summer months.
A wedding here would be a completely unique experience.
What we loved about Louisvale was the astounding ability to combine African and European building traditions.
Brenaissance
Brenaissance Wine & Stud Farm has a spectacular beauty and serenity about it.
The name stems from the owners taking a new path; as husband and wife, best friends and business partners. By pairing the first letter of the couple's surname 'Breytenbach' with the word 'Renaissance' (French for new beginnings), Brenaissance was born.
The Rose Conservatory is a light eclectic space for your ceremony with astounding views of plum orchards, vineyards and mountains.
The Main Brenaissance Hall is a large versatile space, offering you the freedom to create any style of wedding.
We loved the beautifully manicured gardens and views over the plum orchards.
Le Jardin
The elegant Sir Herbert Baker style house is surrounded by 500 rose bushes, lavender fields and rolling lawns.
Wedding ceremonies at Le Jardin can take place on the floating deck overlooking the tranquil dam.
The breathtaking Glass House, which is even more beautiful in person, is an ideal setting for an intimate wedding reception.
There are a number of lovely spaces where you and your family can relax the day before or after and enjoy a delicious pizza night or a good old South African braai.
What we loved about Le Jardin was the quirky decor in each and every room, which followed through into the gardens. There is no need to leave the property!
If you are looking to get married in the Stellenbosch region, Devon Valley is an exquisitely beautiful area. With so many unique options, we are positive you will find your venue.
